Stonkie terms of use

By using Stonkie, you agree to these terms. They're short and in plain language. Please also read the privacy policy, which explains what data the app uses.
What Stonkie is
Stonkie is an educational game: you invest pretend money in real US stocks at real prices, and compete in monthly rankings. The game's money is worth nothing outside it: it can't be exchanged, withdrawn or bought, and there are no cash prizes. Nothing in Stonkie is investment advice. If you ever invest real money, the decision is yours alone.
Who can play
People 13 and older. If you're under 18, ask a parent or guardian for permission. Use one account, your own.
Your nickname and picture
Your nickname, avatar and trades in the game are public. That's why they must not:
- be offensive, hateful, sexual, violent or threatening, or make fun of anyone;
- show or reveal who you are (real name, a photo of yourself, phone, address, school, social media) or who someone else is;
- pretend to be another person, a company or Stonkie itself;
- advertise or spam, or include content you don't have the right to use.
Pictures are reviewed before other players can see them. We may reject or remove a picture and change a nickname that breaks these rules.
Play fair
- Don't use bots, scripts or other programs to play for you, or try to trick the system.
- If you find a bug that gives an advantage, tell us with the Report button instead of using it.
- Don't create accounts to get around a suspension or to climb the rankings.
- Don't harass other players. If someone bothers you, use Block and Report.
- Use reports honestly.
- Copying another player's public portfolio is allowed: it's part of the game, not cheating.
If the rules are broken
We may remove the picture, change the nickname and suspend the account for 7 days, 30 days or permanently, depending on how serious it is and on past suspensions. During a suspension the stocks are sold and the portfolio is frozen, and a player still suspended when a season closes gets no rank in it. The details are in the privacy policy. If you think there was a mistake, write to the address below.
Prices and results
Prices come from a market data provider and may be delayed or wrong. We may correct orders, prices, rankings and results when something goes wrong, and adjust the game, such as the season rules, over time.
The service
Stonkie is free and provided as is, with no guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors. It may change or end. We're not responsible for decisions made outside the game based on it.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time: in the app, under Settings → Delete my account, or at stonkie.muonlabs.app/delete-account.
Changes and governing law
If these terms change, the date above is updated; continuing to use Stonkie means accepting the new version. These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil.
